Over the last two decades, Argentina’s Cordoba Province has become synonymous with the phrase “high-volume dove hunting.” The region has a delightful climate that allows grain crops such as corn, sorghum, wheat, and peanuts to flourish most of the year. This enormous food supply is bordered and interspersed with dense hillside roosting cover, and the combination of food source and roost has produced a population of eared doves estimated to be over 40 million birds. The birds do not migrate; they reproduce up to four times annually which means great year-round hunting.

This private estancia is set in the rolling countryside of northern Cordoba about 50 miles north of the Cordoba airport. This cozy and quaint private estancia has 5 en-suite bedrooms. One is the large Master suite with a king bed. The other 4 rooms have the option of 1 – king bed or 2 – twin beds based on your request.
There is a cozy, comfortable sitting area with a small fireplace in the estancia to swap the stories of the day as well as a comfortable covered patio sitting area outside. During warmer weather enjoy the swimming pool.
Delicious chef prepared meals and a great staff make for a wonderful Argentinian experience.

Hunting

The birds do not migrate; they reproduce up to four times annually which means great year-round hunting.
Prime time
Hunting is excellent year-round. If there is really such a thing as “prime time” it would probably be August and September which combine what are typically the best mild weather months with the fun and shot variety that hunting in the hills provides this time of year.
From March to July most of the hunting is done in and around the crop fields similar to how we hunt dove here in the states. These field hunts start around daybreak. From July thru February the hunting takes place in the hills and begin around 8-9:00. These hill hunts allow for more variety in your shots as you can move up and down the hill. You can shoot high passing shots by staying down at the bottom of the hill or go to the top and have the birds on top of you.
On a typical day, hunters will fire anywhere from 1000 to 2000 shells or even more depending on conditions and personal inclination. Some hunters shoot much more! Hunting is usually 5 – 15 minutes from the lodge. The longest drives are 45 minutes and very rare.
Activities
Guests may opt to see a polo match, ride horses, play golf at nearby Ascochinga Golf Club (18 holes, 40 minute drive); enjoy a day visiting the area’s historical sites including the 450-year-old Jesuit mission; enjoy a little pampering in the large hot tub along with a professional massage therapist; or take advantage of the Argentine shops and do some serious shopping for silver, leather and fine handmade goods. There are a couple of nice vineyards about 30 minutes from the lodge you can tour as well.
Horses can be ridden on property or you can ride into town with a guide to see the mission. Polo matches are normally in Cordoba and are based on the tournament schedule.

Length of Stay / Itinerary
This trip can be as long or short as you wish. The trip normally begins with an afternoon hunt on your arrival day and finishes with a morning hunt on your departure day. The decision you need to make is how many full days of hunting you want. Most people choose 2 to 4 full days. For example, a 3 night/ 4 day hunt (2 full days) includes 6 hunts. A 5 night/ 6 day hunt (4 full days) includes 10 hunts.
Travel Details & Location
Your destination is Cordoba, Argentina. Most people fly into Buenos Aires and overnight and then fly to the lodge the next day.
We are happy to arrange private touring in Buenos Aires with our guide, Peter, and his team.

Wifi is available on site. TV is based on using your own accounts such as Youtube etc.
