Tucked into the scenic mountains of southeast Queensland, this long-established, family-run lodge delivers world-class trophy hunting experiences paired with exceptional Australian hospitality, clean and comfortable accommodations, and a relaxed atmosphere ideal for families, couples, or small groups.
The lodge is owned and operated by a family with decades of experience and a reputation for excellence. With over 300 Gold Medal trophies and more SCI Top 10 entries than any other Australian outfitter, this destination has earned its reputation through ethical, exciting hunting, personalized service, and decades of experience guiding guests to success in the field.
But what truly sets this destination apart is the balance of exceptional hunting with the ability to build in custom touring and cultural experiences before or after your hunt. Whether you want to pet a koala, snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, visit the Sydney Opera House, explore Aboriginal heritage, relax on the beach or enjoy a glass of wine in the countryside—this trip offers a seamless blend of adventure and comfort.
From start to finish, you’ll be cared for with the same warmth and attention to detail that define every Family Expeditions adventure.
Accommodations & Meals
The lodge is comfortable, welcoming, and designed to help you relax after a day in the field. Guests stay in one of four spacious rooms, each with its own private en-suite bathroom. Air conditioning and central heating ensures a good night’s sleep, and Wi-Fi is available for those who wish to stay connected during their stay.
Communal spaces inside the lodge provide a casual place to unwind, visit with your group, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It’s the kind of setting where you feel at ease—never rushed, always at home.
Meals are prepared daily with care and often feature wild game taken during the hunt. Breakfasts are filling and familiar, lunches are served in the field or back at the lodge, and dinners are shared around the table. Local ingredients, traditional recipes, and a relaxed dining atmosphere come together to make mealtime a memorable part of the experience.
This is a place where stories are shared, kids are welcomed, and the focus is on time together—whether you’re hunting or simply enjoying the view.
Hunting
This destination offers access to a stunning variety of game in a lightly pressured environment. Located in the mountains of southeast Queensland, the property hosts a private estate surrounded by 40,000 hectares of national forest. The elevation, terrain, and habitat make it ideal for exciting hunting. Whether you’re seeking a spot-and-stalk adventure through the timbered hills or a safari-style hunt by vehicle, each outing is tailored to your preferences and abilities.
Hunters can pursue up to twelve species including red stag, rusa (Javan and Moluccan), sambar, fallow, axis, hog deer, blackbuck, water buffalo (off site), and banteng (off site). The outfitter has guided more SCI Top 10 trophies than any other in Australia, and mature animals are always the goal. Many species require specialized techniques—Moluccan rusa, for example, prefer thick cover and call for stealth and patience. The goal is always a safe, respectful experience in pursuit of a mature animal you can be proud of.
Trophy quality is outstanding due to selective harvest practices and decades of herd management.
All hunts are fully guided, and daily programs include assistance with field care, transport, and personalized instruction. Whether you’re a seasoned international hunter or this is your first trip abroad, the team provides excellent support before, during, and after your hunt. From equipment preparation to airport transfers, everything is handled so you can focus on the adventure.
