Your Complete Costa Rica Fishing & Touring Adventure
Experience the best of Costa Rica in one seamless, custom-built adventure — pairing world-class saltwater fishing with unforgettable rainforest, beach, wildlife, and eco-touring experiences.
Located on Costa Rica’s South Pacific Coast on the Osa Peninsula, this luxury fishing resort gives anglers access to incredible offshore and inshore fishing while offering more than enough adventure, relaxation, and discovery for everyone in the group. Families, couples, and mixed-interest travelers can enjoy the same destination in completely different ways, then come back together each evening to share the day’s stories.
Your entry point into Costa Rica would be San Jose where we can arrange private touring to see the Poas Volcano, Irazu Volcano, waterfalls, and the Braulio Carrillo aerial tram.
One day may be spent chasing sailfish, marlin, dorado, tuna, roosterfish, snapper, or grouper. Another may include zip lining through the rainforest, horseback riding through the countryside, exploring waterfalls, kayaking through mangroves, visiting beaches, enjoying spa treatments, or watching scarlet macaws from the pool.
With Family Expeditions, Costa Rica becomes more than a fishing trip. We help design the right flow for your group — balancing fishing days, touring days, downtime, and activities so every traveler feels like the trip was built with them in mind.
Fishing
Your Costa Rica Fishing Experience
Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula is a dream location for anglers who want serious fishing without giving up comfort or family-friendly travel. This resort offers all-inclusive sport fishing packages for dedicated fishermen, along with flexible options for families and non-fishing guests.
You can fish offshore in the Pacific or inshore in the calm waters of the Golfo Dulce, also known as Costa Rica’s “Sweet Gulf.” Depending on the season and conditions, anglers may target sailfish, striped marlin, blue marlin, black marlin, dorado, tuna, wahoo, roosterfish, cubera snapper, jack crevalle, bluefin trevally, tripletail, grouper, and more.
What to Expect
Fishing options may include:
- Offshore trolling for billfish
- Inshore fishing in the Golfo Dulce
- Live bait fishing
- Casting
- Fly fishing
- Kayak fishing
- Guided surf fishing
For those focused on billfish, one of the great advantages of this destination is how quickly you can
get to productive water. The resort notes that billfish can often be reached within about 30 minutes of leaving the dock.
Boats & Guides
The resort has a private fleet of fishing boats, including 33-foot Strike Tower boats and 24- and 25-foot Boston Whaler Outrages. Boats can fish both offshore and inshore depending on conditions, group size, and the style of fishing you prefer.
Guides and captains are English-speaking, and the fishing team brings strong local knowledge to each day on the water.
Activities
Touring Highlights That Pair Perfectly with Your Fishing Trip:
Osa Rainforest Adventures
Explore one of Costa Rica’s most biologically rich regions with rainforest tours, wildlife viewing, bird watching, jungle night walks, and visits to nearby natural areas. The Osa Peninsula is home to Corcovado National Park, hundreds of bird species, and an incredible range of mammals and wildlife.
Zip Lining & Canopy Tours
For families and adventure-minded travelers, zip lining through the jungle is one of the most memorable ways to experience Costa Rica. Daytime and night canopy options may be available depending on the itinerary.
Horseback Riding
Ride through rivers, hills, and scenic countryside for a relaxed but memorable way to see the landscape beyond the resort. Half-day and full-day horseback options may be included in your custom itinerary.
Kayaking & Mangroves
Paddle through mangroves or enjoy sunset ocean kayaking for a quieter look at Costa Rica’s water, wildlife, and scenery.
Eco-Tours and Local Experiences
Waterfall exploring, rainforest walks, chocolate farm visits, monkey tour, sea turtle resource, butterfly encounters, wildlife sanctuary tours, and indigenous cultural experiences can all be considered when building out your trip.
Beach Time
While there is not a swimming beach directly in front of the resort, guests can shuttle to nearby Playa Preciosa for beach time, bodysurfing, swimming, and sun.
Spa & Pool Time
For travelers who prefer a slower pace, the resort offers a luxury spa, pool, hot tub, and relaxing areas where you can enjoy the jungle setting without needing to be on the move every day.
San Jose Touring
Build in a day or two of touring at the beginning or end of the trip. Guests may enjoy city sightseeing, local markets, museums, restaurants, coffee tours, cultural stops, or nearby volcano and rainforest experiences before heading to the coast for fishing and adventure.
Length of Stay / Itinerary
Every Costa Rica fishing and touring itinerary is customized around your group’s interests, ages, pace, and how many days you want to spend fishing versus exploring. Most trips are 3 to 7 nights.
