Texas Deer Hunt – Menard

This beautiful Hill Country ranch near Menard, TX is the perfect place to shoot a trophy buck. And yes, they are covered up in turkey as well! This Texas Whitetail hunting offers a unique experience in the industry with a unique price structure. Blackbuck, Axis, Fallow and Red Stag also roam this property.

Accommodations & Meals
The lodge is a very nice original 2 story limestone ranch house with all the modern comforts you want for your stay. There are 5 bedrooms, 11 beds, with 6 bathrooms, a large den/ sitting area with a flat screen TV, large dining room and a nice kitchen with a small eating area attached. There is an outside patio with a fire pit that overlooks a beautiful pond with good bass fishing.
There are two bedrooms downstairs. One has a double bed, private bath and fireplace. The other has 2 twin beds and fireplace with bathroom down the hall.
Upstairs one room has 2 twins with a private bath, one has 2 twins with the bath down the hall and the third has a king and 2 twins with a large private bathroom with a large tub and separate shower.
Hunting
Deer/Exotic Hunt: Whitetail October to January; Exotics year around
Your guide will take you to your deer stand and drop you off allowing you to shoot the buck you desire…period! Texas Whitetail hunting where you can enjoy a traditional style of hunting. There are numerous comfortable box blind, tripods and pop-ups for your convenience. From there it’s all up to you. Whitetail range from 120-200+ B&C. Blackbuck, Axis, and Fallow also roam this property.
Bow hunters love this place because they have had 100% shot opportunity on this ranch. The live oak trees on this beautiful ranch provide the perfect cover for ladder stands and tripods. In some cases pop-up blinds are used. Most shots are 20-30 yards.
Turkey Hunts: March-April
The Hill Country region of Texas has a large population of Rio’s! Our outfitter has access to several ranches so that there is minimal hunting pressure on each property so you get a great experience. This hunt includes 6 hunts (3 mornings, 3 evening) with the opportunity for 2 mature birds.
This outfitter can accommodate hunters from beginners to experts. Seasoned veterans can be dropped off to handle the hunt on their own or a newer turkey hunter can have a guide to do your calling and show you how it’s done. It’s your choice. You can choose to “Cut-n-Run” or to sit still and be patient in a pop-up over a watering hole or anything in between. It’s up to you.
Length of Stay / Itinerary
Arrival/ Departure Schedule & Travel Information:
The hunt schedule is normally set up to arrive after lunch Thursday and depart Sunday at noon. You will hunt arrival day afternoon, the next 2 full days and departure day morning if needed. Choose your own arrival/departure schedule as needed.
The closest commercial flight is San Angelo, TX airport and rent a car for the 1 hour drive to the lodge or the lodge can pick you up for a fee. The next option is San Antonio to fly Southwest Airlines and rent a car for a 2 hour drive to the lodge

Family Expeditions, LLC confirmation and refund policy:
If your trip is more than 90 days out from date of departure, a 50% non-refundable deposit confirms your reservation and must be received within 10 days of booking to confirm your dates. All trips must be paid in full at least 90 days prior to the departure date. If your trip date is within 90 days, FULL payment for the trip is required. All payments to Family Expeditions are non-refundable. Should you need to reschedule or cancel your trip, we will do everything in our power to assist you in finding a suitable substitute or transferring your dates per the lodge/providers/government requirements. Trip insurance protects your investment!
