Oregon Luxury Upland Hunting
This Oregon luxury upland hunting lodge is more than the sum of its parts! Four species of upland birds, 5 star lodging, and one spectacular 3,000 acre ranch all added together with a staff that “Welcomes you home” when you arrive. The ranch owner/operator beams every moment as he shows you his prized possession. His pride is magnified in every detail and among the staff as they all love the setting and sharing it with you.
This Oregon upland hunting ranch is more than a fabulous operation; it is run with pride and concern for its clients and staff. The lodge owner told us, “More business is done in this lodge than on any golf course.” True because the atmosphere is relaxing and conducive to gentlemanly/ladylike behavior and open discussion.
Arguably the finest upland bird hunting in the country and more importantly, a lodge and staff that eagerly builds relationships for the long term. You will be planning your return before you leave your first trip.
British driven hunts designed by the famed British shooting instructor, Chris Batha, are offered at this lodge for discerning shooters that enjoys high flying challenging driven shoots. No need to fly over the big pond.
Accommodations & Meals
It is difficult to tell what guests enjoy most at this lodge – unlimited upland bird hunting for Pheasant, Chukars, Valley Quail and Huns, or the world-class lodging! “It’s just like coming home” is a comment they often hear from their mostly repeat clients.
The finely appointed facility is 10,000 square feet of custom-built quality. The hand-peeled logs, old world charm, oversized rock fireplaces and use of natural materials throughout provide a relaxing atmosphere for all who enter. Features include six double occupancy bedrooms with private bath, a fully stocked wine cellar and tasting room, bar, game room with billiard table, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, phone and fax.
The five guest cabins offer the same comfort and elegance of the lodge, but with the added benefit of privacy. Each double-occupancy cabin has its own fireplace, private bath and even a front porch to sit, relax and watch the sun set at the end of a perfect day.
Meals:
Chef-prepared meals are an event with three and four course meals served by a professional staff. You may enjoy meals as much as the hunting because of the warmth of the atmosphere and the care of the staff. Fresh baked breads and gourmet soups are a favorite passion of the chef. You will be pampered during your stay and won’t lose weight on this hunting trip.
The evenings are reserved for special moments. Enjoy an after dinner drink, gaze at the stars from the wrap-around deck or swap stories by the fire pit.
Hunting
Imagine hunting for Pheasant, Chukar, Valley Quail and Hungarian Partridge all in the same day. Now that’s a Grand Slam! Those dedicated enough to bag all four species receive special recognition and bragging rights around the fire pit at the end of the day.
The ranch is comprised of 3,000 acres of rolling hills, rim rock canyons, creek-fed bottom land, grasslands, planted fields and open range. You won’t find a more perfect place for hunting upland birds anywhere. The ranch is managed exclusively to provide ideal habitat for the extensive bird populations. Crops are planted and left un-harvested, native grasses cultivated and carefully managed, and water sources developed and maintained for one purpose only – to provide the finest upland bird habitat in North America. For hunting guests, this means you will enjoy an experience like none other.
A typical day wingshooting:
- Three course breakfast
- Hunt for Pheasant, Chukar, Valley Quail, and Hungarian Partridge
- Three course lunch
- Relax, nap, then hunt, or hunt right after lunch
- Hors d-oeuvres and cocktails. Relax on the covered porches and enjoy the view, read a good book, or shoot sporting clays (on day of arrival)
- Four course dinner
- Shoot pool, play cards, watch TV or enjoy great conversation
- At the end of the day, enjoy cognac and cigars around the outdoor fire pit and hear who got “The Grand Slam.”
Season:

The Guides and dogs:
Expert guides will accompany your group of 3-4 hunters. Groups are not mixed. Each guide owns and trains his/her own dogs. Each guide has his or her preferred breed from short hairs, wire hairs, muncelanders, to pointers. You will have the same guide each day of the hunt which allows you the personal relationship as well as working
“Best of the British” Driven Pheasant Hunts:
The ranch provides a picturesque setting and rolling terrain similar to Scotland and was hand-picked by Chris Batha as “the perfect place” in North America to host these events.
Pheasants are high-flying birds that demand a high degree of wingshooting skill.
The traditional style hunting will be complimented by world-class lodging, chef-prepared gourmet meals, fine wines and spirits. Each evening guests will gather in the great room for a cocktail reception and appetizers, followed by a specially prepared dinner.
To add to the atmosphere, a Scottish piper will perform one evening and guests will have the opportunity to sample traditional meal of Haggis, tatties and neeps. Traditional dress is encouraged and adds to the experience.
